Providence
- 3 days and 2 nights

Providence is a Gaffed-rigged
Topsail Schooner (2 masts and 8 sails). She is sailed entirely by
traditional methods handed down through centuries of experience and is
perfect for adventure sailing in the true style of a bygone era.
Built from strong Queensland timbers
Providence V was constructed in 1988 and has sailed the Australian coast
for over 10 years.
Designed as a half - sized replica
of Gloucester Schooners, Providence V is a breathtaking example of sailing
history. Gloucester Schooners were Grand Banks fishing boats and were
known for their speed and agility. They
received their names from the port of Gloucester, on the New England coast
of the USA, where they were built. Most vessels that took part in the
early America's Cup series, were topsail schooners.
You can get involved and
help the crew set the sails. You can also have a turn at the helm and
climbing the rigging, all whilst you learn the skills of sailing a truly
beautiful schooner. Alternatively you can sit back and relax and watch our
crew do all the hard work!!
Providence V can accommodate 14
guests and 3 crew in open plan accommodation for an unforgettable three
day and two night cruise around the Whitsunday's.
