The Daintree and Cape Tribulation is a short drive from Cairns and is a World
Heritage
listed area. The rainforest is almost pristine and development is minimal
and always in an environmentally friendly way. Many of the resorts up
there you would not even be able to see.
The Daintree River
is home to the crocodile and there are a couple of different cruise companies
that offer trips up and down the river in the hope that you might see one.
Usually, if it's a sunny and warm day, you will find them sunning themselves on
the river bank. Not a place to try water skiing for the first time!
We have included this tour because of all of the positive feedback
we receive.
One thing you'll find with most Cape Tribulation tours is that they all go to basically the same places, but
this tour provides passengers with an exclusive rainforest walk on private property with an expert guide. There is also a Daintree River cruise for one hour and a visit to the Daintree Environmental Centre.
Lunch is a very relaxed occasion at the Coconut Beach Resort, where you can also go for a swim in their rock pool.
There is a new addition to the Daintree Rainforest, and that is the Daintree Canopy Tower. Built to help teach visitors about the rainforest and it's different levels, this tower enables you to climb up above the canopy of the rainforest for a spectacular view.
Overall, it's a great personalised tour from a small company and is good for the
young and old.

If you don't want to spend a lot of time sitting in a bus, but would still like to see the Daintree and all that it has to offer, this 'Northern Delights' tour will be perfect for you. In
our
opinion, this tour is one of the best that Cairns has to offer, purely for the variety and the quality of the tour.
After a very scenic drive along the coastal road to Port Douglas, morning tea is served in the Daintree, and then it's off on a 1 hour Daintree River Cruise. Maybe you'll even see one it's more fearsome inhabitants, the Saltwater Crocodile.
Following this there is a Tropical Fruit tasting during the lunch stop at the
Daintree Tea House. If it's in season Barramundi is on the lunch menu
also vegetarians are well catered for just let us know when booking the
tour.
There is a rainforest walk in Mossman Gorge, and then a tour of Port Douglas.
If you didn't see any crocodiles on your Daintree River Cruise, the next stop is
Hartley's Creek, where you will see their famous 'Crocodile Attack Show', with free time to also see the rest that this park has to offer.
On the way back to Cairns, they take you via Palm Cove, one of Cairns most picturesque beaches.
