Let's Go Way Outback

These tours are a genuine small group concern, carrying a maximum of only 9 or 13 passengers in late model air conditioned Toyota Land cruiser 4WD's. They don't do buses so you won't feel like you're being herded around, plus there's a fine chance you'll actually get to know your fellow travellers. It also makes the logistics of travelling in a group that much more efficient, meaning more time to relax and not be rushed around.

3 Day 4WD Safari - Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon

Day 1 (Lunch & Dinner)

After picking you up from your accommodation at the sprightly time of 5.45am you complete ticketing on top of ANZAC Hill while watching the sunrise over Alice with a cup of tea or coffee.

Their journey begins heading south to Erldunda travelling through the Waterhouse and James Ranges with a stop at The Camel Farm for refreshments and a Camel ride if you're keen. You also stop at Mt Ebenezer Roadhouse where you can view or purchase Aboriginal artifacts. On the way to Uluru you stop to view Atila (Mount Connor), a mesa tableland and the first significant rock formation of your trip.

On arrival at the Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park you head to the Cultural Centre for lunch and the opportunity to learn about the local Aboriginal law and religion (Tjukurpa) before a short, guided walk at the base of Uluru. At this point people can take a full base walk or climb Uluru if you choose to do so. It's then close to that time ... yes the famous changing colours of Uluru at sunset, complete with sparkling wine and nibbles. It's a great time to kick back and contemplate the day and the vastness of the desert.

Sunrise over Alice - Camel Farm - Mt Ebenezer - View Mt Connor - Cultural Centre - Uluru + Sunset

Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

From a lookout close to their campsite you can view sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta before rolling up the swags and heading off to Kata Tjuta for a walk through the magnificent "Valley of the Winds". After the walk and leisurely lunch you stop at the Resort for fuel and refreshments then head off to Kings Creek Cattle Station for your second night's bush camp, complete with toilet and bush shower. With nobody else for miles, this camp has stunning views out over the George Gill Ranges and gives you a real feel for the Outback. Dinner around the campfire makes for a very social time with another night out under the stars.

Day 3 (Breakfast & Lunch)

A leisurely start to the day before you head off to Watarrka (Kings Canyon) for a mind blowing walk through the towering walls, crevices and plateaus of the canyon. You'll visit the Amphitheatre and the Lost City plus a swim in the tranquil "Garden of Eden" if you wish.

After lunch you start making your way back to Alice travelling on a typical outback dirt road and then 4x4 driving, crossing riverbeds and sand dunes. You'll drop you back at your hostel/hotel early evening and usually meet later for a bit of a night on the town (Alice seems like the big smoke after 3 days in the bush).
