Cairns Adventure Tours

Cairns is the adventure capital of Australia with so many adventure type activities to do and you may wish to do them all!

There is bungy jumping, tandem skydiving, hot air ballooning, white water rafting and horse riding  just to name a few.  You definitely need more than one day to do them all and we are sure after reading the following pages, you will want to stay an extra week to complete them all!

The whole thrill of doing something dangerous is exactly that, because sometimes it CAN be dangerous and there are always risks associated with them.  But sometimes in life, you have to just take a chance.

There are numerous mix and match options with all the adventure tours listed below, we have listed the standard tours so  please email us if you want further information on a combination deal.

Half-Day White Water Rafting

This is the half day version of the Tully River. While maybe not as rough and tough as the Tully River, it still provides a lot of enjoyment and action.
If you don't have much time in Cairns but would still like to experience the thrill of white water or maybe you don't think you could cope with the full day trip first up, the Barron River rafting gives you two hours of rafting with mainly grade three rapids.
As with the Tully River, water levels in the river are generally the same all year round due to the river being dam-controlled, letting out a certain amount of water at allocated times of the day.
After two hours of rafting you have some time to relax at the beautiful Lake Placid Recreation Park where you have the opportunity to purchase a delicious (and cheap) BBQ Lunch.

It fills you with adrenalin and when you get back to Cairns you'll want to go again and again. The Tully River consists of 44 rapids  over about 6 hours with your lunch in the middle at their 'camp' that they've built. Full instruction is given and  even though you might be a bit hesitant at first, you soon realise that the river guides are extremely knowledgeable and that safety standards are high.
You are issued with life jackets and helmets and each rapid has a couple of river guides standing at the side with throw lines, just in case. The rapids are graded up to grade four and will provide you with lots of action. Suitable for anyone as no prior experience is needed

Tandem SkydivingLanding at the drop zone

Some people say that this has to be done at least once in your life, and Cairns is the perfect place to do it!!
You have a choice of different heights to jump from, but our advice to you is to go as high as your budget will allow! 8,000 feet is the lowest height, and the cheapest, but you get only 10-15 seconds of freefall time.  Jumped from 12,000 feet, a full 45 seconds of  freefall, and next jump from the highest - 14,000 feet a full 60 seconds of freefall, the ultimate thrill!!  The instructors/dive masters are all very skilled and patient and do almost everything, all you have to do is scream!!
Your drop zone is a great place to land, with a BBQ and swimming pool so that any. friends who are too chicken to jump, can go and watch you land.
You will not regret jumping, and make sure you get the video. It costs a little extra but is well worth it.

Departs 8am and 1pm daily.

Bungy JumpingJust before you jumped off the tower! Sheer terror!

There just doesn't seem to be  anything to compare to the sheer terror of jumping off of a platform with nothing more than an 'elastic band' strapped to your ankles! That's what makes Bungy Jumping a must do and why everyone wants to do it.
In Cairns the tower is located on the side of a hill in the rainforest, overlooking Green Island and the reef, with a nice big rock pool below for you to jump in. If you don't want to land in the water, just ask the nice people at reception and the cord will be made much shorter for you. If you do want to land in the water we would suggest making it like a dive with your arms outstretched above your head.  It doesn't hurt your head this way!!
Cairns Bungy now also have a platform off of the roof of the tower so you can go that extra bit higher if you dare!

Daily from 10.00am till 5.00 pm. Courtesy bus departs Cairns @ 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm.
