What a perfect day for for a trip out on the water. The sun was shining, the
sea was calm and the island was beautiful. We went to Green Island aboard the
new fast Catamaran and what a difference it is to the old boat!
After the 45 minute ride over there we went for a walk to the
deserted
side of the beach overlooking the reef and the ocean and you
couldn't have asked for a more perfect day weatherwise.
After a walk around the island it was back to the
vessel where we sat down for a beautiful lunch of steak, fish and salads.
There were heaps of different salads to choose from with lots of fresh fruit
also. This was only an extra $14 and when you see the prices for food on
the island (Hot Dog - $11.50, Chicken Noodle Soup - $15.50 (must be pretty good
soup!!)), you come to realise that this is the best value food on the whole
island!
In the afternoon we went on a semi-submersible ride taking us all around the reef off
Green Island. For people who don't like
getting wet or would like to see the island from a different point of
view the semi-submarine is a great way to do it.
We also did some snorkelling in the afternoon and as it was low
tide, you could stand up in the water right down to the end of the jetty.
Then it was back on to Big Cat for our trip home getting us back by 5 pm.
The boat is extremely comfortable, air-conditioned and there are three main
decks with lots of outdoor area to sit back and catch a few 'rays'. It
also has a licensed bar and if you are planning to do any drinking on the
island, take a tip from us and buy it on Big Cat, you'll be glad you did
